According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Philadelphia 76ers have parted ways with basketball operations president Daryl Morey. Head coach Nick Nurse will remain with the team and is set to enter his fourth season at the helm. Former Golden State Warriors executive Bob Myers will lead the search for new front office leadership and will temporarily oversee the team’s management duties.
Morey spent six seasons as the 76ers’ top basketball executive, compiling a regular-season record of 270–212 and guiding the team to five playoff appearances. However, Philadelphia never advanced past the second round during his tenure. Under Morey’s direction, the 76ers executed trades for Ben Simmons and James Harden, signed Paul George in free agency, and selected V.J. Edgecombe with the third overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
