Ilya Nabokov has completed his first training session with the Colorado Eagles.
The goaltender arrived in Denver and took to the ice with his new team for the first time.
Nabokov previously left Metallurg Magnitogorsk, where he helped the club reach the Gagarin Cup semifinals before losing to Ak Bars (1-4 in the series).
Shortly after, he announced his move to the Colorado Avalanche organization, which assigned him to the AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles.
“Hello everyone! I’m happy to report that I made it to Denver safely (not without some adventures) and had my first practice. Everything is good,” Nabokov wrote.
The Colorado Eagles are currently competing in the Calder Cup Playoffs, leading the first-round series against the Henderson Silver Knights 2-1.
