Following Corinthians’ win in the classic match against São Paulo, Rodrigo Garro and Breno Bidon exchanged heartfelt compliments.
The Argentine provided the assist for Bidon’s goal, the third for the Timão in the match. Earlier, Raniele and Matheuzinho had also scored for Corinthians, with Garro assisting the first goal as well.
“Everything he [Bidon] does on the field speaks for itself. He’s like a brother to me. I just want to congratulate him, but I won’t overpraise him—otherwise, he’ll fly too high,” Garro told Prime Video.
Bidon responded, “The group is very united, as it has always been. I want to thank Garro, who is like a brother and father to me. I’m very happy with the three points—we really needed them at home, in a classic. I dedicate this goal to my mother.”
Garro also highlighted the team’s unity in the victory. He stressed the importance of the win, which temporarily lifted Corinthians out of the relegation zone. “This was a game we needed, very important for us. I think we showed the strength of this group in tough moments, always putting the club and everyone’s will first. Today, the victory was for us and for the fans, so they believe and know that we will fight in Brasileirão and Libertadores. This was to show ourselves that we can achieve things when we come together—fans and players,” Garro said.
Bidon also spoke about his future. The midfielder reaffirmed his commitment to the São Paulo club: “Right now, I’m only thinking about Corinthians. I’m very happy here, just growing, and people are helping me a lot. My full focus is on Corinthians.”
Corinthians’ next match is on Thursday (14) in the return leg of the Copa do Brasil’s fifth stage. In the first leg, they beat Barra-SC 1-0.
