Sources told ESPN that Morey, who served as the team’s President of Basketball Operations for six seasons, met with 76ers owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, leading to the mutual decision to part ways.
Nurse is set to return for his fourth season as head coach. Bob Myers, a four-time NBA champion as an executive and current president of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, will lead the search for Philadelphia’s next head of basketball operations, taking over the day-to-day management of the team’s basketball department in the interim.
